HDBank Green Marathon 2026: Elevating the Community Run Amid Can Gio Mangroves

HDBank Green Marathon 2026 returns for its fifth season in Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City, with a stronger focus on community running, environmental responsibility, and digital engagement. The race is jointly organized by HDBank, Unique Company, and the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation. It is not an elite qualifying event, but a mass-participation road race featuring 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km distances, plus children's and team categories. The certified AIMS course runs through Can Gio's UNESCO-recognized mangrove biosphere, offering a scenic yet challenging route with sand, roots and high humidity. Organizers also promote a digital 'Green Marathon online' program through the HDBank app, allowing participants to register, train and complete virtual challenges. Previous editions planted more than 2,000 trees and supported beach cleanups. This combination of sports, technology and sustainability makes HDBank Green Marathon a distinct community event in Vietnam's athletics calendar. The race is scheduled for September 2026, with no major athletes announced so far. Instead of pursuing records, the event aims to inspire ordinary people, especially children, to start running and protect the mangrove environment.
